4 - Passionfruit bento

On the bottom layer: Citrus Soba Salad and Prawn Gyoza, with a miniature bottle of the soba dressing. On the top layer: scooped-out passionfruit "shells" filled with passionfruit and Bethonga pineapple. Not pictured: my standard bowl of miso soup. Here's the complete image.

And this is what we had for dessert. :-)

Our drinks of the week are shown below. My husband's mango tea was from the same family of fruit-flavoured iced teas we sampled last week. His reaction? "Um... fine at the beginning, but too strong at the end. I prefer the lemon."

I was really brave when choosing my drink - there was nothing on the label to indicate its flavour, and I only guessed it was even a soft drink because it was in the same section of Tokyo Mart as all the other drinks. Opening the bottle was so complicated that I had to enlist the help of one of our laboratory's physicists at lunch today, and it took us a good 5 minutes to finally figure it out! For future reference: remove plastic seal, remove hard plastic lid, detach centre from plastic lid and turn upside down, push centre piece down onto glass ball in neck of bottle, glass ball dislodges and floats in the liquid while you drink. Whew! And after all that, guess what it turned out to be? Cream soda! Edit: Oops! It's actually a Japanese soft drink called ramune! Just goes to show what happens when you can't read the label and you're too shy to ask the cashier what it is. Thanks to all those eagle-eyed commenters who recognized the bottle! :-)
